Forcing the game to start in 800圆00 solved it for Command and Conquer, but it doesn't work with Red Alert 3. I had the same problem with Command and Conquer 3 but the problem was actually my desktop's resolution (1920x1080) making it difficult for the game to run the first time. This happens with any version of DirectX installed. When I try to launch Red Alert 3 through Steam the splash screen will come up for a couple of seconds before flashing black and then coming up with an error that says "Please make sure you have Directx9 or higher installed." I've exhausted pretty much every other avenue and I'm hoping someone here can help me.
